If you want constructive criticism, are over sensitive, want honest feedback and not have to hide your feelings, then you’re in the wrong place. Facebook is where the fam’ is at. Twitter gives you a mere 280 CC to rant it out. Instagram gives you expressive visuals to project yourself to the world. And the rest, want you to be either overly open, or try and over justify everything you publish and post.
Forums like REDDIT – the best thing ever invented is where it’s at. There are no excuses for not knowing what it is or not using it. Before mainstream social media, using Bebo or Myspace was the norm and terrified of new things. Then came along Facebook, storming left right and center and everyone was super excited about the cold side of the pillow.
I don’t remember a distinguishing moment with any online social media of discovery. I do remember that one day after college there were hundreds of random Facebook pages of ironic, sarcastic names, like the cold side of the pillow and everyone seemed to like them all. I also remember when Twitter started to take off and all of a sudden we didn’t care that people from our personal lives were on there, and favored famous people’s content , that seemed way more intriguing, than nosing around the neighbors’ Facebook profiles.
I cannot rack my brain hard enough to figure out how I stumbled onto Reddit’s path. And NO, it wasn’t one of Buzzfeed’s stolen lists!
